Our Men's home
Although City Walk focuses on outreach, our biggest impact lies within our men’s home. We support the residents in navigating probation, we help the residents comply with probation requirements and navigate the welfare system. We help with finding employment and for some, even help them reconcile with their families.
In 2013, after moving our own family into a rental, we turned their old family home into a place for male ex-offenders, those experiencing homelessness, and an 18-year-old runaway.
Today, the once 18-year-old runaway is now 24 and serves in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg. Another resident gained custody of his 4-year-old son while in the program. In total, 66 men and counting have gone through our housing program. Many have obtained employment and some have reconciled with their families.
The men's home is currently a 3-bedroom house, but our vision is to have a facility that houses 15 to 20 men.
